REVIEW: Magnolia Park - “I’ll Give You The Stars” Single

One of the most recognizable names in today’s pop punk scene, Magnolia Park, have just released their first single of 2022. “I’ll Give You The Stars,” a feature driven track with fats’e and TITUS, is the groups first single since their debut album Halloween Mixtape was released on Epitaph last year.

“I’ll Give You The Stars” is a great way to kick off the year, with an infectious bass-heavy hip hop inspired beat and a catchy chorus. It’s a much lighter fare than some tracks on the previous album- there’s no breakdowns or rough vocals here. Instead, the track leans more heavily into an emo-rap sound previously explored by the group with “Back on My Bullshit,” and “Liar.” The features from fats’e and TITUS add extra dimension and a nice contrast to lead vocalist Josh’s hook. This still very much feels like Magnolia Park, just maybe a song that didn’t fit perfectly on the debut album. But hey, sometimes non-album singles are just what you need to hold you over until the next release.

The band has teased that there are two more singles to come before they transition into their next album cycle, the Heart Eater Era. We’re excited to see what’s to come, and what their sophomore effort will look like.

Magnolia Park will be kicking off their tour in support of Mayday Parade and Real Friends on February 6th. The tour will continue through early April. More info below.
