Glixen’s Latest Single, “Unwind,” Is One To En Trance The Masses
Phoenix’s four-piece, Glixen, recently released the mystifying single, “unwind,” creating instant buzz in the alternative music listening community. Shoegaze is a tricky genre to navigate but Glixen have seemed to prove, with every single released, that they know exactly how to keep it fresh & inspiring.
“‘Unwind’ is about that feeling of relief when someone comes back to you after they’ve left,” bandleader Aislinn Ritchie explains. “It’s human nature to crave that push and pull—a drug weaned off. Blindingly hard to say no, we succumb to willful ignorance. We recorded this song in Los Angeles with Sonny Diperri producing, and it’s the first song we incorporated different instrumental elements, and it's a glimpse into our evolution.”
“Unwind,” produced by Sonny DiPerri (My Bloody Valentine, DIIV), is slow & sultry, evoking goosebumps with each waning guitar riff. Ritchie’s dreamlike layered vocals melt beautifully on top of the reverberated soundscape. This single displays the band’s versatility while perfectly kicking off the new year of music. 2025 brought them a plethora of opportunities & 2026 seems to be set up to be their biggest yet; with plans starting off tour in Japan next month, America in the Spring and then the UK for Outbreak Festival come June.
