Sarah Barrios releases new single “Aftermath of You”

Cruising her way into the pop punk scene is singer-songwriter, Sarah Barrios, with her latest single, “Aftermath of You.” This punchy rock anthem is another prelude to her upcoming EP, following alongside her other single, “We Don’t Have To Die,” which kicked off the new year last month.

Sarah Barrios may be considered a newcomer to the alternative scene, but she has certainly made her mark in various areas across the web the past few years. This social media connoisseur’s artistic vision & logophilia (the love of words) have proved to be greatly beneficial when promoting her own music. Aesthetically pleasing & sonically profound videos are often the ones that attract the most attention, so it’s no wonder Barrios has garnered tens of thousands followers via TikTok and Youtube. So much attention, in fact, that she was recently nominated for an iHeartRadio award for TikTok Songwriter of the Year. And with this latest release, “Aftermath of You,” we see a prime example of how versatile Barrios’ writing can be.

Barrios shares: “This song is about two people who are so similar they seem like soul mates, but when you put them together, they burn the whole world down. I write most of my songs with a visual in my head and the artwork for this song was exactly how I pictured these two characters and this song coming to life.” Among the electrifying guitar riffs & tongue in cheek lines is an underlying element of nostalgia similar to the sound of Cassadee Pope’s first project, Hey Monday, from the late 2000s. It’s a track tailored perfectly for crowd participation, so keep an eye out for any of Barrios’ live performances & you can stream the acclaimed single below in the meantime.

The “Aftermath of You” music video will premiere on Wednesday, March 9th at 7am PST. Get there early & you’ll get to chat with Sarah herself! Bookmark it here.
