REVIEW: Solya - “Every Road I Know” Single

Singer-songwriter, Solya, has somehow cracked the code on how to organically garner an authentic audience for her music online. Her debut EP, Fever Dream, that was released early last year, managed to strike a chord with a lot of young folks. At just the age of sixteen, Solya had paved her own path of self-discovery through song-writing & creating music as a multi-instrumentalist, thus enchanting thousands of fans to follow along on the journey. Most recently, the teen singer released a single, “Every Road I Know,” which tells the tale of a young love they cannot seem to shake.

“‘Every Road I Know’ is about running from my past, but never truly becoming free of it,” shares Solya on the inspiration behind the track. “I have found comfort in love, but am pained with the fear of abandonment.”

Sonically, the track pulls elements of eerie psychedelic rock reminiscent to that of Mazzy Star, but makes sure to have Solya’s vocals stand in the forefront. The blend of bluesy indie rock with heavenly synth is a soundscape that the singer clearly thrives in. This refreshing & youthful musical journey will be an exciting one to follow seeing as she’s already making moves & lining up live performances. The self-proclaimed Queen of Texas will be making her live debut opening for Baby Bugs on April 24th in LA. (More info)
