REVIEW: Militarie Gun - “Thought You Were Waving” Single

The quintet rock group Militarie Gun is keeping LA-punk well & alive with their first single of the year, “Thought You Were Waving.” Released via Loma Vista Recordings, the grungy guitar-centered track explores anxiety of feeling unequipped when it comes down to handling crises of those around them.

The music video that accompanies the single takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to the song’s interpretation. Each member stoically stands by as various crimes are being committed around them, occasionally becoming an accomplice to the crimes themselves absentmindedly. The slow grit of the song makes it a perfect soundtrack to the events at play, proving Militarie Gun’s versatility as a band as they continue to evolve.

They have a string of shows on the West Coast coming up along with an appearance at Lollapalooza before they head overseas to Europe for various festivals & headlining shows. Staying booked & busy this Fall as well, as they’ll be supporting Manchester Orchestra on their US Tour. Find where you can see them here.
