REVIEW: Koala Voice - "The Bigger The City" Single

Slovenian alternative rock band Koala Voice is back with their latest single and music video, "The Bigger The City". With a reputation for energetic stage performances and a sound that resonates with fans of Paramore, Wolf Alice, and Phoebe Bridgers; Koala Voice continues to break sonic and continental borders.

In 2022, Koala Voice's international appeal was recognized when they won a HEMI Music Award. Previously, their 2021 album "Plata" earned them a Golden Flute Award in the category of Album of the Year. The band's talent, combined with their tireless work ethic, continues to propel them forward.

Their new release “The Bigger The City” begins with a crisp sting of guitar distortion that instantly grabs your attention. As the song progresses, a grand piano adds a cinematic quality, while climactic drums give the record an epic feel. The band's lead vocalist and guitarist, Manca Trampuš, pours her heart into the lyrics, exploring themes of loneliness, feeling small in a big city, and the struggle to be understood. Directed by Igor Perić, with Laura Lavrič Cascio assisting on camera, the music video beautifully complements the track's themes. It portrays the struggles of loneliness and disconnection in a crowded city, highlighting the band's ability to create an immersive audio-visual experience.

Fans can catch Koala Voice live at various venues across Slovenia, with tour dates scheduled throughout the summer months. From Kranj to Ljutomer, the band promises to deliver their electrifying stage performances.
