ONE OK ROCK: ‘LIVE FROM DETOX JAPAN TOUR 2025’ Coming To A Theater Near You
Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK are releasing their new live EP, Live From DETOX JAPAN TOUR 2025 along with their upcoming concert film, ONE OK ROCK: DETOX IN CINEMAS worldwide on April 30th. The concert film, filmed during their show at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, premieres on lead singer Taka's birthday, April 17th in Japan with subsequent releases happening across the world starting the 22nd until the American release on the 30th. While the band have made concert films for each of their previous tours, this is their first world wide theatrical release.
The six song EP is the perfect representation for what each type of ONE OK ROCK fan will take away from the concert film. Fans who have never seen live get a taste of what it’s like to be in the crowd for a ONE OK ROCK show, while fans who have seen them on tour get to relive their favorite moments. The EP features four songs from their most recent album, DETOX alongside a piano version of “Renegades” from Luxury Disease and “Make It Out Alive,” which was released as a promo for the mobile game Monster Hunter Now.
Even without Toru’s new electric guitar solo in “Delusion:All” (the song), along with “Nasty,” works as a perfect example of just how much the concert atmosphere can add to the listening experience. Fans who attended any of the band’s previous concerts know that Toru and Ryota double as backing vocalists, singing lines that Taka sings on the original recordings, some of which can be heard throughout the live version of “Nasty.” “Make It Out Alive” gets a brand new, 48 second instrumental intro that builds up anticipation for the moment Taka’s breathtaking vocals come in. While Taka’s voice usually takes center stage, each member has their chance to shine at different points throughout each song. “Make It Out Alive” is notable for being the first track on the EP to include a drum outro from Tomoya.
The only song on the EP to not have been included on the US setlist— “Party’s Over,” lent as a reminder that even fans who attended the DETOX tour will get something new out of the concert film and EP. The song also includes an extended instrumental section, highlighted by a guitar solo from Toru that’s followed immediately by the song’s chorus. Despite being released in 2021 on a remix EP, the piano version of Renegades is unique to the DETOX tour, with the band having played the album version on their Luxury Disease tour. Taka’s powerful vocals shine in this stripped down version of the track and the additional piano verses offer a new take on this fan-favorite. Over 4-minutes longer than the original recording, the EP’s closing track, “The Pilot </3,” as well as the last song of the show before the encore. A deeply personal song that Taka has admitted to being about his personal life, it’s given an epic transformation when they perform it live. Having just performed for over an hour prior, Taka’s voice is raw and full of emotion, giving every lyric the full weight it deserves. The other members also give the song their all with extended melodies and uninterrupted instrumental solos throughout. With this song, fans are given a very grand performance that really embodies the grandeur of ONE OK ROCK’s live shows.
Fans of ONE OK ROCK are sure to love ‘Live From DETOX JAPAN TOUR 2025.’ If they didn’t buy tickets as soon as they dropped, the EP will make them run to their nearest theater to catch ONE OK ROCK: DETOX IN CINEMAS as soon as possible.
The film will be released in several countries throughout April 2026, including the UK, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, Spain, Taiwan, and Thailand. US fans can find theater listings on sites like Regal & AMC Theatres.
