REVIEW: Lake Hills x Frythm - “Safer With You” Single

Texas-born producer Frythm and LA-based artist Lake Hills teamed up on the new track “Safer With You.” Released under the prestigious Alpha Pup Records, this techno-house-infused gem shows the duo's unique musical alchemy.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Flume, Cashmere Cat, and FlyLo, Frythm has consistently defied genre boundaries, seamlessly navigating the murky intersection between hip-hop and R&B.

On the other end, Lake Hills is an experimental artist with a penchant for blending ominous tones, low-end rhythms, and repetitive drum patterns. The duo's collaborative synergy is palpable, with each layer of the track carefully produced to evoke a range of atmospheres – from liquid house beats to techno-driven four-on-the-floor kicks.

'Safer With You' is enriched by a vocal sample resurrected from an old session with LA singer/DJ Seyaa. Created during the witching hour and themed around the comfort and safety felt with a loved one, the track carries a deep sense of love. The accompanying video, featuring nostalgic clips, provides a reflective space, and invites us to contemplate the comforting embrace found in the presence of those held dear.
