For all my lunar-lovers out there spellbound by the recent Harvest Moon, you’ll be thrilled to hear about NYC’s equally intoxicating alternative trio Moon Kissed. Their latest single, “Strange Satisfaction,” sets a precedent for an upcoming era of indie rock grooves coated in 80’s-inspired synth— a combination they’ve already mastered in their first LP, I Met My Band At A New Years Party.

“Strange Satisfaction” has a cool-toned melody that graciously complements Khaya Cohen’s soulful vocals & layered backing harmonies. The track’s lyrics discuss the masochistic tendencies of enjoying the feeling of heartbreak. “I get a strange satisfaction when you break my heart / I’m a junkie for action so I throw in all my cards.” When you’re so enamored by someone that you’d risk it all… and maybe purposely self-sabotage to gratify that yearning heartache.
