With the upcoming visual for "Rare Garments," fans are eagerly awaiting more of Neb Doe's unique blend of music and storytelling that vividly paints the Los Angeles experience. We spoke with Neb in this exclusive interview to go in depth on his artistic journey and creative process for the album!

Who was the first artist you listened to that made you want to become an artist yourself?

The first artists I listened to that made me want to be a rapper would definitely be Nas, Eminem, and Jay-Z.

For new listeners, how would you describe your sound and artistic style?

I would describe my style as cinematic, witty, fun and versatile, West Coast style with East Coast lyricism.

Can you tell us a bit about the creative process for your latest album?

For my latest project "Those Palm Trees & City Lights" my creative process was simple, I would write to beats that inspired me right away. Some songs had a chill vibe to them and some were meant for the parties and kickbacks, I recorded many songs in the past 2-3 years, and would select half that felt suitable for the daytime, cruising through traffic and palm trees, a sunny west coast vibe which is for the first half of the project, then chose the other half that felt like a night time vibe, cinematic, with a city energy to it, something you can drink to.

Any favorite lyrics or songs from the album? If so, why?

Some of my fav songs from the album would be, "Post Card", "Ain't Nothin", "Hold It Down", "Satsfid", "New Life", "Twist", and "So Exclusive". When it comes to Lyrics hard to choose too many dope ones I like.

What has been the most rewarding part about being a musician for you so far?

The rewarding part is when people that have always supported me tell me they see the progression in my lyrics and music, gaining new listeners, seeing that my music has been listened to in other parts of the globe from the States to Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America, and connecting with potential fans and listeners.

Any upcoming projects or shows fans can look forward to for 2024?

For 2024 I am going to focus on dropping singles, my next single I'm trying to drop will be "Won't Take 2 Long" a party anthem with a Bay Area/Detroit style to it featuring Papii Red.

What’s one piece of advice you would like to share with your listeners or any other aspiring artists?

Never give up, like Nipsey Hussle said “this is a marathon,” even when you don't feel inspired you got to still continue or perhaps put that energy to another art form but as long as you keep producing art and creativity you can get your message out there, and the reason I do this is because I was inspired by others before me so when it comes to art remind yourself why you got inspired in the first place and you'll be good to go.

On that note, what’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received as an artist?

I learned to not be hard on yourself, and to stay determined, to go out there and still let people know about your music, to understand that not everyone will like your music so don't take the rejection personally, and to just stay consistent.
