Inhaler Bring The Open Wide Tour To Long Island

Irish rock band, Inhaler, made their debut to Long Island last week— the Paramount in Huntington to be exact. Continuing to promote their latest album released earlier this year, Open Wide, they managed to hit some more American cities that they couldn’t get to on the first leg in the Spring. This run also allowed for more festival exposure as they made appearances at Sea.Hear.Now, Shaky Knees & Riot Fest.
On September 15th in Huntington, it was evident in the line wrapped around the building & down the block that Long Island natives & anyone in the general New York / New Jersey area made sure to make it out for this night.

The Paramount ushered in the bulk of the attendants for the night well before the first act even came on stage; most of them waiting in line for hours prior to secure their spot at barricade. Australian rock outfit, Radio Free Alice, were the first act to take the stage & seemed to win Inhaler fans over with an electric stage presence that had fans dancing along instantaneously.

Before you knew it, the lights were out then Inhaler were on. What used to be an encore staple, became the very first song to kick off the set— “My Honest Face.” Strobe lights accompanied the insanity of the track to create an infectious dance floor atmosphere for fans. They continued to warm up the crowd with tracks from their debut album from 2021 including “Totally” & “When It Breaks;” all of which ignited a fiery excitement in fans after hearing just the first few notes. Gradually, they introduced newer tracks from Open Wide to the set like “Little Things” & “Concrete,” where some heard for the first time that night.

Seeing as the band had never been to Long Island before, lots of folks likely didn’t anticipate ‘Inhaler dollars’ to go flying in the air from fans during “Who’s Your Money On?,” which has now become a novelty to the set. The resounding singalongs commenced with the addicting tracks of “Cheer Up Baby” & “Billy (Yeah Yeah Yeah)” before the lead singer, Eli, made his way to the front of the crowd to stretch out his microphone to fans to help sing “Dublin In Ecstasy,” with the wonderfully complementing Irish lights of green, white & orange.

It felt seemingly too soon where the band retreated the stage to be welcomed back for an encore. “It Won’t Always Be Like This” played as the crowd jumped along in bliss per the bassist’s request. “Your House,” was the final song of the night where the audience posed as the choir in the studio version— although, perhaps a little off-key. Regardless, fans were left sweaty & breathless in satisfaction. While some stage setlists were retrieved & sticky ‘Inhaler dollars’ from the floor were snagged, everyone left with a night they’ll never forget.
