Canadian rock duo, Softcult, kicked off their first ever headlining US tour in Boston last night at Berklee’s Cafe 939. With support from Soft Blue Shimmer, the night was filled with ethereal guitar drones & riffs that effortlessly captivated the crowd. The room was packed wall to wall with fans reciting back every lyric to each song including the newer releases like “Someone2Me” & “Dress.” In between tracks, lead singer, Mercedes Arn-Horn, made sure to address various social issues that inspired their songwriting; encouraging listeners to help protect women & minorities and also taking the time to reflect on your own actions & how they affect others. Softcult continue to be a driving force in activism & empowerment in the alternative music scene while sharing euphonious poetry.
