It was a stellar opening night in Nashville for Washington, D.C. band Origami Angel, accompanied by Canadian emo band Arm's Length, indie rock band Macseal and Singaporean emo band, Forests.
A sea of band shirts ranging from Dance Gavin Dance and Arm's Length to Knocked Loose and Lorna Shore dotted the floor of Eastside Bowl on a cool Thursday night. While the public bowled on the lanes outside of the venue, the moshing and crowdsurfing started inside of the venue early and didn't let up until Origami Angel left the stage, not before lead singer Ryland Heagy passionately exclaimed "Protect Trans Kids" and "Free Palestine".
It's not often a band can easily combine jazzy notes with lyrics about Taco Bell, but Origami Angel did it without missing a beat.
