Grupo Frontera returned to San Antonio for their Jugando Que No Pasa Nada tour, bringing an unforgettable night of regional Mexican music to the Frost Bank Center. The sold-out show saw fans eagerly lining up outside, with excitement building as the South Texas Valley band prepared to take the stage. Grupo Frontera, a six-member música Mexicana group consisting of long-time friends Adelaido Solís, Julian Peña Jr., Alberto Acosta, Carlos Zamora, Carlos Guerrero, & Juan Javier Cantu, has become a global sensation.
As the band emerged from backstage, the crowd erupted into cheers. The energy in thevenue was electric as Grupo Frontera took their places on an impressively upgraded stage. One of the standout features was the placement of the drummer and percussionist in the back of a pickup truck, a unique element that added a personal, South Texas touch to the show’s production. Midway through the concert, Grupo Frontera took a heartfelt turn, performing "Tragos Amargos" by the legendary Ramón Ayala. The entire venue united in song, filling the arena with an emotional tribute to an iconic Mexican hit.
One of the most talked-about moments of the night involved a fan's sign that caught the attention of the band. The sign, which read in English, “My ex is sleeping with someone else, and I'm here happy with Grupo Frontera,” prompted laughter and cheers from the audience. Adelaido, known to fans as Payo, invited the fan, Amanda, to share her story with the crowd. As she revealed that her ex was also at the show with someone else, Grupo Frontera didn’t miss a beat, playfully remarking, "Don’t worry girl, he's up in the stands while you've got floor seats!" They then dedicated "Si Yo Fuera Ladrón" to Amanda, a moment that quickly made headlines. Amanda was even invited backstage to meet the band, adding to the already unforgettable experience. As the night progressed, Grupo Frontera continued to perform their biggest hits, with fans singing along to every word. They closed out the night with their chart-topping single "Por Qué Será" and their collaboration with Bad Bunny, "X100to," sending the crowd into a final wave of exhilaration.
