Atlanta-based singer/rapper Baby Tate left quite the mark in Boston the other night. Opening for a sold out crowd of diehard Charli XCX fans is no easy task, but Baby Tate stuck the landing. Kicking off her set with her firecracker single, “Pedi,” fans were immediately warmed up & dancing along. She continued to dominate the stage as she performed some of the iconic tracks from her solo album, After The Rain: Deluxe, like “Rainbow Cadillac” & “Eenie Meenie.” Fans were visibly thrilled to finally hear her latest singles live; the smooth R&B melodies of “What’s Love” & the provocative hip-hop track “Sl*t Him Out.” The audience was completely under Baby Tate’s trance, as they gave it all they got during the uptempo jams & swayed along with their phone’s lights shining during the slower tracks. Baby Tate closed her set with self-empowering anthem that features fellow female rapper, Flo Milli, “I Am.” If anyone was hesitant before, they were surely won over during this final track’s rhythmic affirmations: “I am healthy / I am wealthy / I am rich / I am that bitch.” Baby Tate proved to everyone that night that she is one fierce showstopper you won’t want to miss.
