Arctic Monkeys are making their way around the United States this summer with support from Fontaines D.C. and recently made a stop at Boston’s very own TD Garden. This largely anticipated night had attendees dressed in their most tumblr-esque attire to celebrate their return to Boston.

To loosen up the eager crowd, Fontaines D.C. put on a 45-minute set featuring an Irish flag & Boston Celtics banner as stage decor. This tour ruminates on the visual conception of a 70’s late night talk show. Promptly walking on stage at 9:15, Arctic Monkeys took the stage dressed in all black tuxedos and manned their instruments. To kick off their set, we heard “Sculpture of Anything Goes, “Brainstorm”, and “Snap Out of It.” As the band started to get into the groove of the night, each member was seen unbuttoning their dress attire and feeling more relaxed to comfortably get through their set. Despite releasing their newest album The Car last year, Arctic Monkeys dug deep into their discography and pulled out a slew of fan favorites from each release. In the middle of their 21-song setlist, we heard iconic hits from AM such as “Arabella” and “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?.” With one final push, the band continued to command the stage with “Do I Wanna Know?”, “I Bet You Look Good On the Dancefloor”, and “Body Paint.” Despite the extended outro of “Body Paint,” it was time for Arctic Monkeys to wrap their set up, but the thunderous applause led them back to the stage for an encore. They ended the show with both “There’d Better Be a Mirrorball”, “505” and “R U Mine?.” Even with the days of reblogging Arctic Monkeys lyrics long gone, the band shows that they are still more than capable of selling out arenas around the globe and can entice fans in more ways than before. We hope that Boston showed them enough excitement to not wait another six years to come back. Until then, you can check out the pictures from their second night in Boston that our photographer Kyle took!
